Things got a little bit silly at Overstone House this week. Last week we held a residents’ meeting, focussing on activities and creating a person-centred schedule, encompassing our residents’ passions and hobbies.
The meeting was a lot of fun and by the time we finished we had compiled quite a list of activities and quite an eclectic shopping list.
This week our parcels have begun to arrive, paints, drums, musical instruments, everything our residents had requested plus a couple of surprises in the shape of some silly costumes and funny props.
Our residents were all excited to open the parcels and begin making use of all of our new equipment, the team were more excited about the costumes and couldn’t wait to try them on and show them off.
Our residents were both surprised and delighted to find their activities being delivered by a giant banana and a carer riding a unicorn, it’s not something you see every day.
