Next week our first residents will be moving into Overstone House, and we are beyond excited to welcome them. It has been strange to be working in a care home without residents. Obviously, we have all had to have our inductions and training and we have spent a lot of time planning for the month, getting ready for the big day when we can put our plans into action. And we have big plans…
We are opening at a magical time of year, the autumn and winter have so much to offer. We have been choosing Christmas decorations and organising parties and events, sizing up where to put the tree. It is going to be a wonderful Christmas.
So far, we have planned an Elf Day, lots of silly costumes and shenanigans, December 4th is National Cookie Day, so we have everything ready for some Christmas themed cookie decorating. Christmas Jumper Day is on the 8th, who doesn’t love a Christmas jumper and then we have a big party planned for the 23rd December where we will welcome families along to celebrate the festive season in style. I am sure that our new residents will have their own ideas too.
This is such an exciting time of year for so many reasons and we fully intend to make the most of every minute of it.
