Who says that pantomimes are just for Christmas? OK so it may seem a little random to watch a pantomime in July, but pantomimes are great and shouldn’t be a once-a-year treat.
There is a wonderful theatre company based locally called Nice’N’Easy, they take their productions on the road and visit places such as care homes like ours and put on a range of performances. This week we were treated to a production of Robin Hood, featuring a guest appearance by our head chef Donna who ventured out of the kitchen to play Maid Marion, and exceptionally good she was too.
It was such a special afternoon, so full of fun and laughter, they really brightened up our day, and were the topic of conversation for some time after the show.
The pantomime was original and funny with a great script and a bit of adlibbing thrown in for good measure. Not only did Donna have a starring role in the performance but she was also awarded the employee of the month award by Robin Hood himself.
Donna does such an excellent job of running the kitchen, her food id nutritious and delicious and her cakes are out of this world. Well done Donna and thank you to Nice’N’Easy, we had a wonderful time.
